Thank you to everyone who stopped by the SSA at SCSU kiosk in Atwood. Sarah and Nick did a fabulous job of selling buttons and wristbands for the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers care package fundraiser. We still have a ways to go to make $50, but we will get there! The overall campus reaction to our new group has been mostly positive so far; many visitors to the kiosk were happy that there would finally be a secular presence at SCSU. Some visitors were a little incredulous as to the purpose of our group, but were open to our explanations. We hope that all were at least a little bit curious.
Tomorrow is the first get-together of SSA at SCSU. We meet at 3 p.m. in the Iris Room, which is located on the second floor of Atwood. If you cannot make this meeting, please let us know what times and days would work best for you; we will try to find a day and time that works for the most schedules. Don’t despair if the final meeting day and time do not work for you, though. There will be many other opportunities to get involved with SSA!
